Yes — Canadians need a visa for Vietnam.

The Government of Canada lists a tourist visa as required for Vietnam. Most travellers use the electronic visa (e-visa), which can be single or multiple entry and is valid for a maximum of 90 days. Your passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond the date you expect to leave.

An ordinary Canadian passport needs a visa for Vietnam.

Canadians do need a visa for Vietnam. The e-visa covers most trips — and most refusals we see come from small mismatches between the form and the passport.

When it is worth using us

  • You want the form checked before it is submitted — the e-visa is unforgiving, and a name or passport number that does not exactly match the bio page is the most common reason for a refusal or denied boarding.
  • You are staying longer than 90 days, or travelling for work, study or another purpose the e-visa does not cover.
  • You hold a passport other than Canadian and are not sure which route applies to you.
  • You want the photo and passport scan produced to spec in one visit rather than rejected and redone.

How it works

  1. 1.We confirm the right route

E-visa or consulate, single or multiple entry, and whether your trip actually fits inside 90 days. If the e-visa is right for you, we say so — it is the cheapest option and we are not going to talk you out of it.

  2. 2.We prepare the application

Every field checked character by character against your passport bio page, plus a compliant photo and scan taken in our Markham office.

  3. 3.A person reviews it before it goes

A specialist checks the whole application against the passport before submission. Errors caught here cost nothing; errors caught at the airport cost a trip.

  4. 4.You get the approval letter

We send it through and pass on the result, with the printed copy you should carry.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond your departure from Vietnam, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Scan of the passport bio page
  • Passport-style photo, white background, no glasses
  • Intended entry and exit dates, and your first address in Vietnam
  • Entry point (airport, land or sea border) — this is fixed once approved

Government fee. Vietnam charges its e-visa fee directly on the official portal — commonly US$25 for single entry and US$50 for multiple entry. We never mark up a government fee, and we will show you the current amount on the official site before you commit to anything.

Apply direct, if you prefer

These are the official government sites. They are the only places you should enter your passport details, and they charge the real fee with no markup. We would rather you use them and come back to us when the paperwork is genuinely hard.

Frequently asked questions

Do Canadians need a visa for Vietnam?

+

Yes. The Government of Canada lists a tourist visa as required. Most travellers use the e-visa, which is valid for a maximum of 90 days and can be single or multiple entry.

How long does the Vietnam e-visa take?

+

The official portal generally returns a decision in a few business days. Apply well before you travel — there is no way to expedite it once it is in the queue, by us or by anyone else.

Can I just apply myself?

+

Yes, and for a straightforward trip that is often the sensible thing to do. Apply on evisa.gov.vn, the official government portal — not one of the many lookalike sites that charge a markup. We are worth paying when the trip is complicated, when a mistake would be expensive, or when you would rather someone else carried the risk of getting it right.

What happens if there is a mistake on my e-visa?

+

A mismatch between the visa and the passport can mean denied boarding or refused entry on arrival, and the fee is not refundable. That is why we check the application against the passport before it is submitted rather than after.
